ARIA launches Member Inclusion Programme for underrepresented groups

Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) today announced the launch of the ARIA Membership Inclusion Programme, providing up to five free 18-month ARIA memberships to labels or music companies owned or run by individuals from underrepresented groups.

Submissions are currently open here, and close 6pm (AEDT) Friday, 15 December 2023.

Successful applicants will be announced in January 2024 and be invited to meet with the ARIA team, having the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable industry insights, including into how the ARIA Charts are created and how releases may qualify for entry into the prestigious annual ARIA Awards.

ARIA CEO, Annabelle Herd, said: “We’re very proud to introduce this new initiative, designed to support future leaders of Australian music, as well as help increase the voices of those incredible artists and industry professionals who may not have access to the same support, network and infrastructure as others. This, like ARIA’s Board Observership Program, is another way we can help ensure that future industry leaders reflect the diversity of our industry and inspire others to overcome barriers, succeed, and encourage others to follow in their footsteps.”

ARIA members include the three major labels and over 180 independent labels, actively advocating to support the interests of its members and profile Australian music through the ARIA Awards, ARIA Charts and initiatives like Great Southern Nights.
