R.I.P Vince Lovegrove

(19 March 1947 – 24 March 2012)

Australian music legend and AIDS activist Vince Lovegrove tragically passed away on 24th March 2012 in a car accident, at the age of 65.

Lovegrove’s career in music began in the 1960’s when he formed The Valentines. Bon Scott was also a vocalist in the band until Lovegrove introduced him to AC/DC.

He became the manager of The Divinyls in the 80’s, and worked as tour manager for Jimmy Barnes. He also took on the roles of music reporter and journalist over the years, and wrote a biography on Michael Hutchence.

Lovegrove was a true pioneer of the local music scene and his contributions will not be forgotten.

Everyone in the ARIA community would like to extend their sincere condolences to the family and friends of this iconic Australian artist.
