In the first radio survey since it’s on air inception, the Official Motorola ARIA Chart Show has proven itself a clear ratings winner for NOVA’s five capital city radio stations, topping the results in its two key demographics.

Hosted by Jabba and broadcast live every Sunday, the Official Motorola ARIA Chart Show is in the number one position for the NOVA’s key under 40 demographics, 10-34 and 10-39, according to the latest Nielsen Media Research radio survey released this week. (Please find figures below).

Denis Handlin AM, ARIA Chairman and Chairman and CEO, SONY BMG Music Entertainment Australia and New Zealand, was thrilled with this outcome, saying “It’s evident that the music loving public have tuned into this new program in droves. To see such early adoption of a brand new initiative is incredible; they were clearly ready for an official chart countdown, delivered in a fun yet knowing manner, totally in keeping with NOVA’s on air style. It’s a wonderful result for the partners in this strategic alliance between ARIA, Motorola and NOVA and further cements the ARIA charts as the authoritative music chart in the country”.

Group Program Director for dmg Radio Australia, Mr Dean Buchanan, was particularly happy with these initial strong results for each NOVA station under his care. “We really believe in the Official Motorola ARIA Chart Show and have invested heavily in promoting it on our stations around the country. These first-up results validate our instincts that our listeners want to hear each week’s top songs. All the feedback we’ve received to date indicates they have taken to Jabba and the concept brilliantly and we are thrilled with the way the program is developing on air”.

As the official sponsor of the ARIA Charts, Motorola has positioned itself at the leading edge of technology and music trends. Motorola’s Andrew Volard, Managing Director, Mobile Devices, South Pacific, joined Mr Handlin and Mr Buchanan in praising the success of the Official Motorola ARIA Chart Show in its inaugural survey period, saying “Coming in at number one in its timeslots right around the country demonstrates just how relevant the chart is to this audience. Motorola's music phones are essential for access to entertainment, and the Official Motorola ARIA Chart Show marries technology and music together perfectly”.
