‘Stay’ by The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber hits its sixth week at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. In addition to hitting #1 in Australia and the US, ‘Stay’ has topped charts in Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Slovakia, and Sweden.
Elton John and Dua Lipa join forces for the new single ‘Cold Heart’. Remixed by ARIA Award-winning Sydney trio Pnau, the track incorporates parts of John’s single ‘Sacrifice’ (#7 Mar. ’90), ‘Rocket Man’ (1972), ‘Kiss the Bride’ (#25 Mar. ’84) and the album track ‘Where's the Shoorah?’ (1976). It becomes Elton John’s first Top Ten entry since ‘Something About the Way You Look Tonight’ / ‘Candle in the Wind 1997’ (#1 Sept. ’97). It becomes Dua Lipa’s ninth Top Ten single in Australia. John and Pnau previously collaborated on the album Good Morning To The Night (#40 Aug. ’12).
Lizzo returns to the Singles Chart for the first time in two years as she hits #16 with ‘Rumors’. The Cardi B-featured track becomes the American artist’s first entry on the chart since ‘Good As Hell’ (#6 Nov. ’19). It’s Lizzo’s first new material since she released third album, Cuz I Love You (#19 Jan. ’20) in April 2019.
In its third week in the Top 50, Melbourne producer Jolyon Petch’s dance re-working of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ jumps five spots to hit #18. Featuring vocals by Reigan Derry, Petch’s version spent seven weeks at #1 on the ARIA Club Chart between April and June this year. The Corrs’ cover of the same song reached #47 in June 1998.
This week’s chart also includes new peaks for Doja Cat’s ‘Need To Know’ (#9), Marshmello & Jonas Brothers’ ‘Leave Before You Love Me’ (#26) and Shouse’s ‘Love Tonight’ (#36).
British singer-songwriter Mimi Webb makes her ARIA Top 50 debut with ‘Dumb Love’. It’s the fifth single release by Webb to date and has so far peaked at #12 in the UK. Her previous single, ‘Good Without’, hit #8.
