Blinks rejoice: the world’s biggest girl group, BLACKPINK, have smashed an ARIA Singles Chart record with new single Pink Venom; while beloved Aussie pub rockers, The Chats, score a #2 debut on this week’s Albums Chart.
The much-anticipated comeback of K-pop superstars BLACKPINK, featuring Australian-raised singer Rosé, has officially begun. Pink Venom, the first single from upcoming album Born Pink – which reached 86.2 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours – debuts at #1 on the singles chart, making it the highest-debuting single by a K-pop group in ARIA Chart history after BTS’ Dynamite debuted at #2 in 2020.
Scoring the #1 spot on this week’s Albums Chart is Madonna with Finally Enough Love, her 12th #1 album. In the #2 position comes The Chats’ second studio album, Get F**cked. This is an ARIA Charts peak for The Chats, whose first album High Risk Behaviour was a contender for Best Hard Rock Heavy Metal Album in the 2020 ARIA Awards.
