Debuts for Shawn Mendes, Hailee Steinfeld and more!
For the third straight week, ‘Closer’ by The Chainsmokers holds #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The track just hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
A jump of four spots in its third week in the top 50 puts the multi-artist collaboration ‘Sucker For Pain’ into the top ten for the first time. It becomes the second track from Suicide Squad: The Album (#1 Aug. ’16) to hit the top ten, following Twenty One Pilots’ ‘Heathens’ (#4 Aug. ’16).
There are also new peaks this week for Betty Who’s ‘I Love You Always Forever’ (up three to #6), Mike Perry’s ‘The Ocean’ (up three to #11), MØ’s ‘Final Song’ (up two to #15) and Martin Garrix’s ‘In The Name Of Love’ (up ten to #23).

#28: Shawn Mendes ‘Mercy’ – Shawn Mendes’ fourth single to hit the top 50 on the ARIA Charts. ‘Mercy’ is the second single from the Canadian singer-songwriter’s forthcoming second album, Illuminate, following on from this week’s #10, ‘Treat You Better’ (#4 Jul. ’16).
#33: Hailee Steinfeld ‘Starving’ – The second top 50 entry for American singer Hailee Steinfeld. ‘Starving’ is a collaboration with Russian-German DJ Zedd and American duo Grey. Steinfeld previously charted with ‘Haiz EP Feat. Rock Bottom’ (#39 Apr. ’16).
#36: Ellie Goulding ‘Still Falling For You’ – Ellie Goulding picks up a second top 50 entry for 2016 with ‘Still Falling For You’. The track comes from the soundtrack to the new film Bridget Jones's Baby. Goulding peaked at #46 in February with ‘Something In The Way You Move’.
#45: Calum Scott ‘Dancing On My Own’ – The top 50 debut for Brit Calum Scott. Scott first came to attention as a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent in 2015, placing sixth. His debut release is a cover of the track originally recorded by Swedish artist Robyn.
