This week on the ARIA Albums Chart, Playboy Carti scores his first #1 – and his first top 10 entry – with Music, while Aussie Mia Wray scores a top 20 debut with her first album.
Carti reached #49 in 2018 with Die Lit and #15 in 2020 with Whole Lotta Red. The new, 30-track album includes appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, The Weeknd, Future, Young Thug and Jhene Aiko.
Mia Wray debuts at #26 with her first album, Hi, It’s Nice To Meet You. She won the People’s Choice Award in the Telstra Road To Discovery Program in 2012 and has since toured with Vance Joy, The Rubens, the Teskey Brothers and Maisie Peters.
On the Singles Chart, Doechii lands her first #1 with Anxiety – sampling Gotye’s Somebody That I Used To Know – jumping from #9 last week. Somebody That I Used To Know, with Gotye and Kimbra, spent eight weeks at #1 in 2011.
Doechii is also at #23 with Denial Is A River, which peaked at #13 earlier this year, and features on Sleepy Hallow’s version of A N X I E T Y, which reached #14 a month ago and sits at #41 this week.
California-born singer Alex Warren lands in the top 10 for the first time, as Ordinary leaps from #14 to #4. He hit #30 earlier this year with Carry You Home; it reaches a new peak of #28 this week.
Chappell Roan is new at #14 with her country song, The Giver. It’s her fourth visit to the top 50: Good Luck, Babe! and Hot To Go rose to #4 and #19 respectively in 2024 and Pink Pony Club climbs to a new peak of #5 this week.
