American star Taylor Swift claims her seventh #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart as she debuts in the top spot with ‘Willow’. The track is the lead single from Swift’s ninth album evermore, which has debuted at the top of this week’s Album Chart. It becomes her second #1 single for 2020, having topped the chart for one week with ‘Cardigan’ (#1 Aug. ’20).
A total of twelve tracks from evermore appear in this week’s ARIA Top 50. As well as ‘Willow’, there’s ‘Champagne Problems’ (#12), ‘No Body, No Crime’ (#16), ‘Gold Rush’ (#21), ‘’Tis The Damn Season’ (#24), ‘Tolerate It’ (#33), ‘Happiness’ (#37), ‘Coney Island’ (#42), ‘Ivy’ (#43), ‘Evermore’ (#45), ‘Dorothea’ (#47) and ‘Long Story Short’ (#49).
Taylor Swift has also hit #1 with the singles ‘Love Story’ (#1 Mar. ’09), ‘Shake It Off’ (#1 Sept. ’14), ‘Blank Space’ (#1 Nov. ’14), ‘Bad Blood’ (#1 Jun. ’15) and ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ (#1 Sept. ’17).
Jumping up six spots to #3 in its second week on the chart, The Kid Laroi’s ‘Without You’ becomes the Sydney rapper’s highest peak on the ARIA Singles Chart. The ARIA-nominated artist’s previous single ‘So Done’ sits at #8 this week’.
As we get closer to Christmas, Wham’s 1984 classic ‘Last Christmas’ jumps up nine to #15. The single hit #3 at the end of 2019, returning it to its original peak position.
After a week out of the chart, Jam Mountain Music’s ‘Light A Candle’ returns to the Top 50, taking out a new peak at #23.
A week on from making its debut, Glass Animals’ ‘Heat Waves’ hits a new peak at #44.
