Week four at #1 for Lukas Graham’s 7 Years

This week’s debuts include Samantha Jade and Little Mix.

Danish quartet Lukas Graham has made it four weeks in a row at the top of the ARIA Singles Chart with their track ‘7 Years’. Fellow Danes Cut 'N' Move also spent four weeks at #1 with ‘Give It Up’ (#1 Feb. ’94). Of the previous Danish #1s on the Singles Chart, only Aqua’s ‘Doctor Jones’ has spent more weeks at #1 with seven.

Twenty One Pilots’ ‘Stressed Out’ has moved up one spot to pick up a new peak in its fifth week in the top ten. It equals the track’s highest peak on the Billboard Hot 100.

A jump of six spots has put Daya’s ‘Hide Away’ into the top ten for the first time. It’s the track’s fifth week in the top 50.

‘Cheap Thrills’ moves four spots to give Sia a fourth top ten on the ARIA Singles Chart. She’s previously cracked the top ten with ‘Chandelier’ (#2 Apr. ’14), ‘Elastic Heart’ (#5 Jan. ’15) and ‘Alive’ (#10 Oct. ’15).

There have also been moves by Fifth Harmony’s ‘Work From Home’ (up 26 to #13), Alan Walker’s Faded (up six to #14), Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ ‘Dance Off’ (up two to #19), Mike Posner’s ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ (up 23 to #23) and Taylor Swift’s ‘New Romantics’ (up 12 to #35).

Debuts:

#28: Yo Preston Feat. Kelly Kiara ‘Love Yourself Vs F@*k Yourself’ – The week’s highest debut comes from British artists Yo Preston and Kelly Kiara and their cover/response version of Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’ (#1 Dec. ’15). Yo Preston takes over Bieber’s role while Kiara takes on the role of the song’s subject, replying to the claims made in the original lyrics.

#36: Samantha Jade ‘Always’ – Samantha Jade picks up her eighth entry on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Always’. The single is the second to come from the album Nine (#11 Nov. ’15), following on from ‘Shake That’ (#32 Jul. ’15).

#41: Little Mix Feat. Jason Derulo ‘Secret Love Song’ – The third single to hit the top 50 from Little Mix’s third album ‘Get Weird’ (#2 Nov. ’15). The group’s tenth entry on the ARIA Singles Chart is the follow-up to ‘Black Magic’ (#8 Jun. ’15) and ‘Love Me Like You’ (#27 Oct. ’15).

#47: Miike Snow ‘Genghis Khan’ – The first appearance on the ARIA Singles Chart for Swedish trio Miike Snow. The debut of ‘Genghis Khan’ coincides with the group’s debut at #TBA on the Albums Chart this week with third album III.
