Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) today brought a slice of Australian music’s nights of nights to Canberra’s Parliament House, with a live performance from ARIA Award winner and 2024 nominee, Amy Shark.
The packed pop-up gig took place in the Senate Courtyard, with Shark treating hundreds of politicians and staffers to a live performance.
Following in the footsteps of fellow ARIA Award winners and Parliament House entertainers of years past – G Flip and Thelma Plum – Shark’s show marked the start of ARIA Week, with the 2024 ARIA Awards in partnership with YouTube set to take place on Wednesday night.
After the show, the superstar, who is nominated for four awards this year – including Album of the Year and Best Solo Artist – posed for photos with ministers including Attorney-General, the Hon. Mark Dreyfus and Minister for the Arts, the Hon. Tony Burke.
ARIA CEO, Annabelle Herd, said: “Thank you so much to Amy and everyone who came along today. It’s always such a wonderful opportunity to bring artists into Parliament House and remind everyone just how incredible our homegrown artists are and exactly why they deserve support. We can’t wait to keep the celebrations rolling across the week, bring on the Awards on Wednesday!”
