Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA) welcome today’s pre-election commitment from the Australian Labor Party of $25 million over two years to extend the Revive Live program.

The commitment directly responds to one of the key asks of Vote Music: the united music industry campaign launched this month to back Australian artists, venues and businesses.

ARIA and PPCA CEO, Annabelle Herd, said “This is a positive step and shows clear recognition of the role live music plays in building careers and connecting artists with audiences. But it's just the beginning. Whoever forms the next government must continue to deliver a broad plan for Australian music that includes removing the outdated Radio Caps, securing Music Australia’s future, increasing local music prominence, and copyright protections remain strong as the AI transition continues.

“As soon as the results of the election are clear, we’ll continue working with all sides of politics to make sure Australian music remains front and centre in cultural and economic policy.”
