Coldplay’s Australian tour continues to boost their album sales, with Moon Music jumping from #6 last week to a new peak of #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
Moon Music reached #2 when it was released early last month, it is Coldplay’s eighth #1 album here, following A Rush Of Blood To The Head in 2002, X&Y in 2005, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends in 2008, Mylo Xyloto in 2011, Ghost Stories in 2014, Everyday Life in 2019 and Music Of The Spheres in 2021.
Perth rock, reggae and hip-hop band South Summit score the highest new entry of the week, with their debut album The Bliss arriving at #25.
Perth metalcore band Make Them Suffer’s self-titled album is new at #38. It’s their fifth album; until now, their best performer was How To Survive A Funeral, which reached #17 in 2020.
Australian singer Peach PRC arrives at #71 with Chapter 1: The Singles Collection. Her EP, Manic Dream Pixie, went to #1 last year.
Aussie rock band King Stingray debut at #51 with their second album, For The Dreams. Their first, self-titled, album reached #6 in 2022. They have won one ARIA Award and are nominated for Best Australian Live Act in this year’s awards, which will be handed out next Wednesday.
On the Singles Chart, Rosé and Bruno Mars have been beaten to a fourth week on top by LA born-and-raised singer Gracie Abrams, who scores her first #1 single with That’s So True. It’s her third hit, all racked up this year: Close To Youstopped at #34 and I Love You, I’m Sorry peaked at #7 (it’s at #12 this week).
