Dance Monkey hits 14 weeks at #1

Debuts for Selena Gomez, Kanye West and more!

Hitting its 14th week at #1, ‘Dance Monkey’ by Tones And I breaks the ARIA Charts record for most consecutive weeks at #1 on the Singles Chart. Current record holder for most weeks at #1, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’, only managed to hold the top spot for 13 straight weeks, dropping to #2 for a week, before returning to #1 for two more weeks.

Tones And I is now the Australian female artist who has spent the second most amount of time at #1 over her entire career. This week she equals Delta Goodrem’s 14 weeks but has a long way to go to reach Kylie Minogue’s 30 weeks.

Also this week, her follow-up ‘Never Seen The Rain’ comes in at #12.

Jumping up seven spots to #6, ‘Good As Hell’ by American singer/rapper/flautist Lizzo hits the ARIA Top Ten for the first time. The rise of ‘Good As Hell’ comes after a new version was released featuring Ariana Grande. The single is currently #1 in the US.

In its fifth week in the Top 50, Flume’s ‘Rushing Back’ hits a new peak at #15. It’s the third week in a row that the single has reached a new peak.

Debuts:

#2: Selena Gomez ‘Lose You To Love Me’ – Selena Gomez picks up two debuts on this week’s ARIA Singles Chart. Hitting #2, ‘Lose You To Love Me’ is the first single released from Gomez’s forthcoming third solo album. ‘Look At Her Now’, which has debuted at #29, has been released as a standalone single. Gomez charted earlier in the year with ‘I Can’t Get Enough’ (#43 Mar. ’19), a collaboration with Benny Blanco, Tainy and J Balvin.

#7: Kanye West ‘Follow God’ – Topping the Albums Chart with Jesus Is King, Kanye West snags ten entries on this week’s Singles Chart. Debuting at #7, ‘Follow God’ is the highest-placed track from the album. West has also charted with ‘Selah’ (#18), ‘Closed On Sunday’ (#19), ‘On God’ (#21), ‘Everything We Need’ (#26), ‘Every Hour’ (#33), ‘Use This Gospel’ (#36), ‘Water’ (#37), ‘God Is’ (#39) and ‘Hands On’ (#46). The hip hop star scored seven Top 50 entries from his previous album, ye (#1 Jun. ’18).

#42: Meduza ‘Lose Control’ – Italian production trio Meduza take out their second Top 50 entry with ‘Lose Control’. The track is the follow-up to Top Ten hit ‘Piece Of Your Heart’ (#7 Jul. ’19). Like its predecessor, ‘Lose Control’ features British trio Goodboys. British singer Beck Hill joins both on this track.
