Debuts for Dami Im, Meghan Trainor, Keith Urban and more!
For the third straight week, Drake’s ‘One Dance’ is #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The Canadian rapper has also picked up a new entry this week, debuting at #38 with the Rihanna-featured track ‘Too Good’.
After debuting at #4 last week, Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling!’ has moved up one spot to #3. It’s the star’s sixth top three single and first since ‘What Goes Around...Comes Around’ (#3 Mar. ’07).
A move of five spots to #6 for ’No Money’ gives Swedish duo Galantis their third top ten on the Singles Chart. They’ve previously hit the top ten with ‘Runaway (U & I)’ (#4 Apr. ’15) and ‘Peanut Butter Jelly’ (#3 Aug. ’15).
Climbing up five spots, ‘Panda’ gives Desiigner his first top ten on the ARIA Singles Chart. The track is a former US #1.
Debuts:
#5: Dami Im ‘Sound Of Silence’ – After coming second in last weekend’s Eurovision Song Contest, Dami Im becomes this week’s highest debut with ‘Sound Of Silence’. The track is Im’s second Singles Chart top ten, following on from ‘Alive’ (#1 Nov. ’13).
#18: Meghan Trainor ‘Me Too’ – Taken from Meghan Trainor’s second album Thank You (new at #3 on the Albums Chart this week), ‘Me Too’ is the singer-songwriter’s sixth single to hit the ARIA top 50.
#30: Keith Urban Feat. Carrie Underwood ‘The Fighter’ – Coming from the #1 album Ripcord, ‘The Fighter’ is Keith Urban’s sixth top 50 single. His highest peak to date has been with ‘Once In A Lifetime’ (#18 Nov. ’06).
#38: Drake Feat. Rihanna ‘Too Good’ – As well as topping the Singles Chart for a third straight week with ‘One Dance’, Drake picks up a new entry with ‘Too Good’. Featuring Rihanna, it’s the second collaboration between the two artists on this week’s chart; their track ‘Work’ (#5 Mar. ’16) currently sits at #42. It’s the fourth track to chart from Views (#1 May ’16), following on from ‘Hotline Bling’ (#2 Oct. ’15), ‘One Dance’ (#1 May ’16)) and ‘Pop Style’ (#44 Apr. ’16).
#45: Little Mix ‘Hair’ – The tenth top 50 entry for British girl group Little Mix. It’s the fourth single to come from the group’s album Get Weird (#2 Nov. ‘15), following on from ‘Black Magic’ (#8 Jun. ’15), ‘Love Me Like You (#27 Oct. ’15) and ‘Secret Love Song’ (#16 May ’16).
#48: Rihanna ‘Needed Me’ – The third single from Rihanna’s Anti (#5 Feb. ‘16) following on from ‘Work’ (#5 Mar. ’16) and ‘Kiss It Better’ (#48 Apr. ’16). In the US, the track was Rihanna’s 29th Hot 100 top 10 hit, tying her with Michael Jackson for the third-most Hot 100 top 10s.
#49: Cheat Codes Feat. Kris Kross Amsterdam ‘Sex’ – The debut chart appearance for American EDM group Cheat Codes. ‘Sex’ is a collaboration with Dutch group Kris Kross Amsterdam and features a re-use of the chorus of Salt-N-Pepa’s early 90s hit ‘Let’s Talk About Sex’ (#1 Jan. ’92).
