Linkin Park’s new lineup scores its first #1 debut on the ARIA Albums Chart this week, while Illy lands in the top 5 with Good Life.
From Zero, is Linkin Park’s eighth studio album, and first since One More Lightin 2017. It is also the first from the new line up of Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Joe Hahn, Dave Farrell, Emily Armstrong, and Colin Brittain, following the passing of former lead vocalist Chester Bennington in 2017.
All of Linkin Park’s studio albums have reached the top three, including three previous chart-toppers: Hybrid Theory in 2000, Minutes To Midnight in 2007 and A Thousand Suns in 2010.
Australian rapper Illy arrives at #4 with Good Life. It’s the seventh album from the two-time ARIA Award winner and his fourth Top 10 entry: Cinematic peaked at #4 in 2013 and Two Degrees and The Space Between hit #1 in 2016 and 2021 respectively.
Canadian pop star Shawn Mendes debuts at #24 with his fifth studio album, Shawn. He hit #1 in 2018 with Shawn Mendes and #2 in 2020 with Wonder.
The late and legendary UK MC MF Doom enters at #29 with the 20th anniversary edition of MM.. Food. It’s the album’s first appearance on the chart.
On the Singles Chart, it’s two weeks in a row at #1 for Gracie Abrams’ That’s So True. She joins Mariah Carey, Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX, Billie Eilish and Rosé on the list of female artists who have topped the singles chart this year. Female artists have been at #1 for 25 weeks so far this year, including the past 16 consecutive weeks.
