Debuts for Fergie, Kanye West, Dua Lipa and more!
A jump of two spots for ‘In My Blood’ gives The Veronicas their third #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. The single has reached the top spot in its fourth week in the top 50. The duo, also known as twins Lisa and Jessica Origliasso, have previously topped the Singles Chart with ‘Hook Me Up’ (#1 Nov. ’07) and ‘You Ruin Me’ (#1 Sept. ’14). ‘In My Blood’ is the second #1 single by an Australian artist on the ARIA Singles Chart in 2016.
In its fourth week in the chart, Imany’s ‘Don’t Be Shy’ jumps seven spots to hit the top ten for the first time. It’s been a top ten hit in Imany’s homeland of France, as well as a number of other European countries.
This week’s chart also features significant moves up by Mike Posner’s ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ (up eight to #17), Keith Urban’s ‘The Fighter’ (up eight to #19), Kent Jones’ ‘Don’t Mind’ (up nine to #30) and Delta Goodrem’s ‘Enough’ (up 13 to #33).
Debuts:
#26: Fergie ‘M.I.L.F. $’ – Black Eyed Peas member Fergie releases the first single from her forthcoming second album Double Duchess, ‘M.I.L.F. $’. It’s her first appearance on the Singles Chart since ‘A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)’ (#43 Jun. ’13), taken from the soundtrack to The Great Gatsby (#2 Jun. ’13).
#31: Dua Lipa ‘Hotter Than Hell’ – With ‘Be The One’ (#6 May ’16) sitting at #27 this week, Dua Lipa pick up a second Singles Chart entry with ‘Hotter Than Hell’. The track was her first to chart in the UK, currently sitting at #15.
#43: Kanye West ‘Famous’ – Kanye West grabs his first charting single from seventh album The Life Of Pablo with ‘Famous’. The track’s debut comes following the release of its controversial video. It’s Kanye’s first chart appearance since ‘All Day’ (#42 Mar. ’15).
#45: Era Istrefi ‘BonBon’ – Kosovo Albanian artist Era Istrefi makes her ARIA Charts top 50 debut with ‘BonBon’. The track has charted in a number of European countries. The accompanying video has reached over 90 million YouTube views.
#46: MØ ‘Final Song’ – The debut top 50 appearance for Danish electropop singer-songwriter MØ. ‘Final Song’ comes from MØ’s forthcoming second studio album. She previously charted as the featured artist on Iggy Azalea’s single ‘Beg For It’ (#29 Nov. ’14).
