Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around
Scottish band Wet Wet Wet took out their sole #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart when their version of ‘Love Is All Around’ spent six consecutive weeks at #1 during July and August 1994. Originally recorded and released by The Troggs in 1967, ‘Love Is All Around’ was recorded by Wet Wet Wet for the soundtrack to Four Weddings & A Funeral (#4 Jul. ’94). The track debuted at #23 in early June and hit #1 for the first time in its fourth week in the top 50. In total, it spent 18 weeks in the top ten and 25 weeks in the top 50.
‘Love Is All Around’ was accredited 3x Platinum and was #1 on the 1994 ARIA End Of Year Singles Chart.
Wet Wet Wet next charted with ‘Julia Says’ (#38 May ’95). Their last appearance on the ARIA Singles Chart was with ‘Don't Want To Forgive Me Now’ (#45 Sept. ’95). The band split in 1997 before reforming in 2004.
