With just four days left until submissions for ARIA Collab close this Friday, 31 January, ARIA is thrilled to reveal the iconic Bakehouse Studio in Melbourne and Forbes Street Studios in Sydney will play host to the first two collaborators, while The Association of Artist Managers (AAM) has partnered with the hit-making new initiative.
Melbourne’s Bakehouse Studios, a cultural landmark and creative hub, will host WondaGurl from 3 to 7 March, offering an inspiring and inclusive environment steeped in musical history. In Sydney, Forbes Street Studios – known for its work with global icons such as The Weeknd, Billie Eilish and Flume – will welcome Tommy Brown from 31 March to 4 April, providing a state-of-the-art setting for the next wave of Australian recordings set to take on the globe.
AAM, the peak body for Australian artist managers representing more than 400 manager members, will play a pivotal role in the selection process for ARIA Collab, with an AAM representative joining the judging panel, alongside representatives from Music Australia, ARIA and industry experts across live music, recorded music, and marketing sectors.
AAM will also co-present two ARIA Talks Collab sessions, offering educational opportunities for both ARIA and AAM members, with details to be announced closer to the event dates.
ARIA CEO Annabelle Herd said: “With submissions closing this week, we’re excited to unveil even more details about ARIA Collab, including our exceptional studio partners and the invaluable involvement of AAM. These partnerships, as well as the critical support of Music Australia to deliver the program, will ensure we are not only able to create incredible music but also strengthen the foundations of our industry through collaboration, mentorship and shared knowledge.”
AAM Executive Director Maggie Collins said: “The art of collaboration is a practice in experimentation, pushing the boundaries, and working towards a collective goal. It is these very attributes that are reflected in this bold and ambitious program, which comes at a time where the stats reveal our local industry needs innovation and opportunities for Australian music to reach new, global audiences more than ever. It is with great eagerness and enthusiasm that the AAM are joining ARIA as part of the pilot ARIA Collab program.”
