2025 ARIA INNOVATOR PROGRAM – PRIVACY COLLECTION STATEMENT
ARIA is committed to protecting your privacy and handling all personal information collected in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Collection Statement explains the personal information ARIA will collect in this application form and in respect of your participation in the ARIA Innovator Program, the purpose of its collection and how it will be handled by ARIA.
Type of Information
As part of the application process to attend and participate in the 2025 ARIA Innovator conference event (the Event) and 2025 ARIA Innovator Workshop (the Workshop) (collectively referred to as the Innovator Program), ARIA will request and collect personal information about you, including your name, mailing address and other contact details. ARIA will also collect sensitive information about you, including your age and cultural and ethnic background.
PURPOSE and USE
The applications to the Innovator Program will enable persons to attend and participate in events related to the Innovator Program. The application forms request certain personal (including sensitive) information from you to assist ARIA in carrying out the following primary functions:
to process applications for persons to attend the Event;
to process applications for the Workshop, determine applicants’ eligibility, and to contact successful applicants;
to contact attendees with news related to the Innovator Program;
to provide attendees with information about ARIA and relevant music industry matters;
to compile and publish aggregate statistics regarding the demographics of attendees for the purposes of research, analysis and reporting. From time to time, ARIA may publish and share materials with relevant stakeholders and the media. In this instance, all personal and sensitive information will be in aggregate form and anonymised. ARIA may share this aggregated and anonymised information with its partner for the Innovator Program, Sound NSW.
If you do not want to share certain personal information with ARIA, please contact ARIA to discuss alternative options. If you choose not to share certain information with ARIA, please be aware it may not be possible for ARIA to process the application.
STORAGE
For these application forms, ARIA is using Microsoft Forms. Use of Microsoft Forms is subject to the Microsoft Services Agreement and Privacy Statement. For customers in Australia, Microsoft stores data within Australia.
Raw data and personal information collected via the forms will be accessible by authorised ARIA personnel, who will only use this information for the approved purposes set out above and are bound by confidentiality constraints. ARIA will not provide the personal information collected from you to anyone else, unless otherwise indicated above, you have given consent for us to do this, or we are authorised or required to do so by law.
ARIA will take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Your personal information will be stored on a password protected database and password protected files which are secured from unauthorised access.
