Moves for Mariah Carey, Wham!, John Lennon, Yoko One & Plastic Ono Band and more.
Twenty four years after it’s initial release, All I Want for Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey, finally lands at #1 on this week’s ARIA Singles Chart. The track has been consecutively re-entering the chart during every festive season since 2012. This week’s position at the top spot beats the tracks original peak of #2 during it’s original run in 1994, at which it held for two weeks.
Jumping thirteen spots on this weeks chart, Wham’s Last Christmas lands in the top 5 for only the second time since it’s inaugural appearance at #3 in December 1984. The single has been working it’s way up the Top 40 ARIA Singles for the last four weeks.
Coming in at #14 this week and making it’s first appearance on the ARIA Singles Chart is Happy Xmas (War is Over) by John Lennon, Yoko Ono & The Plastic Ono Band. The single jumped straight into the ARIA top 40 singles this week with the track previously peaking in the Top 10 in the early 70’s.
